Lust have it ... March Box Review..

I subscribed to Lust Have It Beauty boxes after reading some of the girls reviews on other blogs that I follow who have received Bella box packages and after comparing Lust Have it and Bella box, I decided that Lust Have It would be more suited to me as I recognise and use more of the products that they sample on their site. I'm  quite non experienced when it comes to beauty. Shameful to admit but about two years ago was the first time I learnt how to apply eye liner. Hahah a bit of a novice when it comes to beauty products but I'm willing to learn, so thought that this may be a good way to start. And it would possibly improve my beauty, hair, skincare and health regime if I find something I like.

Used Wine Cork Place cards ... help me choose which one to make ..

I fell in love with an idea to use wine corks for the base of our place cards and have been searching for inspiration on google. There are so many different ways to make them. But I'm having a tough time deciding which way I want to go ...

Manu Fieldel's L'Etoile - A restaurant review...

After a rather busy morning shift this today, I tarted myself up with some make up and nice clothes and S (sister in law) and I went to Paddington where Manu Fieldel - the host of My Kitchen Rules on TV at the moment, has his lovely French restaurant called L'Etoile.

DIY Bubble Bottles ... Confetti Alternative Part One

I love Confetti and always imagined that if I ever did get married that we would have rose petals thrown to celebrate our marriage. But because we have chosen the Rose garden in the Botanic Gardens we aren't allowed to have rose petals as they pose a risk of disease to the roses already there and fake ones will be too hard to clean up....

So I thought blowing bubbles would be fun instead. I love the look of the above photo. Very cool. And its what helped me to make my decision that bubbles would be cool. And also possibly hiring or buying a bubble machine which the celebrant could use when we walk down the aisle. And it would look great in photos too.

Bridesmaids Jewellery Gift Boxes ... easy to make

I was looking for Bridesmaid jewellery on eBay and couldn't really find what i wanted for the girls. I did order a hair clip but it was so much smaller than what i was expecting to be. One of the girls on the vogue forums - Rinche (here's her blog) recommended going to Lovisa, which is a jewellery store in the Westfield shopping centres. I located one in Miranda and thought I'd take a trip up there and see what I could find as I was having no luck on eBay..

Red Lantern - Surry Hills .... Restaurant Review

Last night I finally was able to catch up with my sister in law to be again after a busy week of normal late shifts with two night shifts tacked on... So buggered. After a quick 4hrs sleep today, I drove myself into the city, picked up S and we headed to the Red Lantern in Surry Hills, run by Luke Nguyen.

Oh my god this place is amazing! We sat outside in the little front part of the restaurant beside the footpath which had a clear plastic and wood facade which sheltered us from the street, it also had some beautiful leafy green plants around the plastic which was beautiful. It started to rain and the raindrops where rolling down the facade quite dreamily.

My second make up and hair trial ... final decision!

My second make up trial was with Amy Chan and I was very impressed. She was very efficient and good at what she did. Her make up on me was flawless and I loved the look of it. She turned up on time, and went through the pictures of hair and make up that I had selected and listened to my experience with the first make up artist. We were off to an Army Ball after she did my hair and make up so it was a great excuse to have it done and be nice and pretty for the evening.

See below for the photos of what she did for me:

Tidying up the laundry - making it more accessible

We are renovating the apartment that we are living in and about a year ago I think it was, I decided to start painting the laundry white and got into sorting it out. It's all nice and white now and I decided that we could benefit with a shelf above the washing machine and laundry sink. This helped clear out some of the mess. But now that I've started lite n easy and their boxes are quite big and we've still got paint cans and reno stuff being stored in the laundry, it's getting a wee bit cluttered in there again So I thought I better do some organising in the laundry to save me falling over stuff when I go in there. We are also planning to rework the laundry later on in this year or next year so this is just an interim plan for the time being.

I saw that Fantastic Furniture had a new bookcase/shelf thing being advertised on tv, so I checked out their website and thought that it would work in the kitchen rather well.  See the picture right for what it looks like on the website.

I went and had a look at in the store and it's quite a simple but modern shelf but i think that it will fit in well with the laundry as the sink is chrome and the shelf and other boxes are black, plus black and white go well together.

Pre - wedding accommodation... time to go looking

Yesterday I managed to rope in my sister in law to be to come looking at five and 4 star hotels in Sydney's CBD for us girls to get ready in and also for the boy's but either in a different hotel or a different level of the same hotel. Man what a mission this was ... I cannot believe how expensive parking in Sydney is for an hour to two hours. It ranged from $29 to $54 an hour. After a few backing out of the parking lots because it was too expensive, we eventually found a metered park in The Rocks, that wasn't a loading zone and parked there and did the walking.

Before we found our park we started off at Fraser Suites in Kent Street. This place was one of the first places that I had wanted to look at because it looked rather gorgeous on the website. My research has all been done through wotif.com.au, I just picked the names of the hotels and then went and visited them yesterday.

DIY Pocket Fold Invitations ... Finished!!!

Last night I finished the last of my spare pocket folds and I now have a pile of addressed envelopes with our invites to the Australian guests sitting on my coffee table to post. There is another small pile beside it of the New Zealand guests but they need to wait till my New Zealand stamps arrive so I can put them on the RSVP cards.
