Wedding dress update ... it has arrived!!!

So with passing the six month mark, everything seems to be happening. I thought I'd give Bridal Vision a call, where I had brought my dress from to see whether it had arrived yet. And apparently it had been sitting there for a couple of weeks, so the lady informed me. And she also said that I'd made a fitting time etc..

I was like ... umm no I hadn't and I hadn't received a phone call, so the initial excitement kinda got dulled down a wee bit. But it's still very very exciting that it's arrived and now I have to find a fitting time that my MOH and I can go together.

I was wondering what to do with the fitting as I plan to loose a smidgen more weight and tone up my arms before the day. I've lost 2.5kgs since February just by doing Lite n Easy and occasionally going to the gym and trying to stop eating McDonald's.

My friends have sort of been in two minds as well. Some say get two fittings done, one now and then one closer to the time and others say just one. I think I'll get one now, so I can make sure that the dress isn't massive or they have screwed it up, and then I'll find a reputable dressmaker who can do the girls dresses when the time comes and mine as well.

I also thought I had a couple of months up my sleeve for shoe shopping. So I think I'll just buy a pair of those shoes that I put in my post from endless.com, actually maybe a couple of pairs with different heel heights so I can try them on with it. And then find another pair if they aren't suitable closer to the date.

I've been tossing up whether I should show you guys my dress. And thought screw it .. I might as well. I don't think FH reads this blog much, and if he does, he knows not to look at any of the wedding dress posts. So I did some google searching today and Knightly have it on their site, so if you want to take a sneak peak.

FH IF YOU ARE READING THIS PLEASE DON'T CLICK ON THE LINK  OTHERWISE YOU WILL RUIN THE SURPRISE FOR YOURSELF

So what do you think? I so can't wait to try it on again as it initially made me feel like a princess and so happy when I was wearing it!

    1. thank you. I love the beading as well. Especially down the back of it. I'm having some taken off under the arms so it doesn't scratch the inside of my arms which I absolutely hate. But I love it as well. Am trying to decide whether to put a necklace with it or not?

  3. That dress is AMAZING!! You are going to look so stunning, your fiancé will be lost for words when he sees you. The beading is just gorgeous. To the above comment you wrote - if you go for a necklace, maybe a dainty chain with a small pearl? I think it would have to be something delicate so it fits in with the dress. Either that or go no necklace and statement earrings?

With the shoes make sure you have them for your final fitting at least so the length can be adjusted if you need. Or I guess you just get to go shoe shopping again.
    Sooo excited for you!

    1. Thank you, I really value your comments. Yeah I agree with the necklace comment. I think I will just go for some statement earrings and a nice bracelet and hair comb, as I am having a terrible time trying to match sets together at the moment without spending a horrendous amount of money on something I may break or loose.

Yeah that was what i was thinking with the shoes. I'm searching at the moment, as I don't think I'll be able to have a fitting until june due to my roster and MOH's roster not being conducive to each other, and due to the fitting place only being open on mon, tues and wed which is a pain in the butt. So that will at least give me some time to order, recieve and exchange if necessary. :)

    2. You are so welcome. :)
Have you tried looking at Lovisa? They actually have some really nice pieces and aren't expensive.

How frustrating they are only open a few days a week, but that is a plus with that is does work to your advantage in that aspect.

  4. Your dress is absolutely gorgeous! I love the beading on it.
I would definitely put a necklace with it or either big statement earrings. you could even buy a few cheap ones, that you can wear again and see what looks good!
Very exciting!! Your man is going to be speechless when he sees you walk towards him :)

    1. Hey jessiegirl, thanks for your kind comments. Yeah the beading is what makes it I think.

I've decided that I'm going to go with statement earrings I think and I agree with you.. am going to purchase a few and see which ones look best with it. Cause if they are cheap, it really doesn't matter how many I get as I can always wear them with other outfits.

I so can't wait too see the look on his face. I hope he will be speechless, fingercrossed :)

    1. Thanks alisha. I was worried a little bit that it was going to be too simple, but you are right the beading does add some bling and makes it special. Out of the 50 odd dresses that I tried on, this was the only one that actually went "yes you are going to buy me!" :).

All the others were 98% right and I couldn't put my finger on what the2% wrong was. Turns out that it was the colour that was the problem. I kept trying on ivory dresses instead of white, and as soon as I tried a white one on, we knew that it was the perfect one. So i've ordered it in white. :) Can't wait to pick it up :)
